Art in jewelry design

A 20-year career in jewelry design is my love story, pure and simple.
The pick of my career was in 2011 when I visited N.Y.
I participated in Bonhams Fine Jewellery of New York auction,
where I presented and sold one of my high-end jewelry designs.
It was an eighteen karat gold, diamond, and colored diamond necklace,
with a matching pair of earrings. The design was artistic, wild, unique.

To make the story short, I bring here, an article, published on

"An eighteen karat gold, diamond, and colored diamond necklace, by Sigal Shohat
the necklace designed as a cascade of textured gold floral links each centering round brilliant-cut diamond stamens of greenish-blue, yellow or pink, accentuated with five pavé-set diamond flowers; a pair of earrings en suite; estimated total diamond weight: 10.75 carats; gross weight approximately: 141.0 grams; length: 16 1/2in. (colored diamonds not tested for origin of color)

Sigal Shohat's path as a jeweler wasn't defined until the age of 25, when it began accidentally first as a hobby in 1995. After studying filigree and technical goldsmithing, stone setting, model and jewelry design, and computer jewelry design, she opened a silver studio in Herziya, and a store in Ra'anana. Today, she works from home creating designs by the commission. Shohat also has a relationship within the diamond and stone trade in Israel. This community endorses her work; they provide her with a range of fancy colored and shaped diamonds and gemstones, which she is driven to incorporate into unique designs, some of which reflect her passion for her home, while others are more metaphorical.

For Sigal Shohat, jewelry is poetry. She views her jewelry as a practical form of art. Each jewel expresses the emotion of the artist and owner. Summarily, the beauty and art projected by the creation are meant to move the artist, wearer, and observer.

While Shohat is well known and has participated in several exhibitions in Israel, she is a newcomer to America. This wild chrysanthemum necklace and earring set reflect proficiency in jewelry design and manufacture; and an evocative and engaging, tactile and sensuous poem. It is the first offering of a jewel by creative Sigal Shohat in the United States."
